Places come and go. Many restaurants that survived the pandemic are still struggling. Please support these and the other great independent, locally owned restaurants The Valley of The Sun has to offer.

A dog friendly patio and a to die for bruschetta makes this stalwart bistro as wonderful today as when it opened over a decade ago. Two more words... "tomato bisque."
Roosevelt Avenue, PHX, AZ 85004
If there is a better donut on the planet, I haven't found it. Owner Chhaya Papaya has a passion for witty and whimsical concoctions and he has the skills in the kitchen to leave you in awe of such stunningly scrumptious, made from scratch delights.

Roberto and his crew bring old world Italian to downtown Phoenix. Wood fired pizza and scratch made pasta along with the Mista salad makes this my favorite downtown meal.
1616 North Central Avenue, #104 PHX, AZ 85004
This family owned Glendale legend is my favorite pizza in town. Wood fired, Roman style, New York style, pizza frita? They offer it all. Fresh mozzarella is made daily, the flour is 00 from Italy, & the tomatoes come from San Marzano at the base of Mt. Vesuvius. Still hungry? Mrs. P makes the cannoli and cheesecakes in house!

L.A. residents swear Roscoe's is the best chicken and waffles on the planet... until they try the Red Bird chicken at Lo-Lo's. Don't forget the cornbread, greens, and red Kool-Aid!
1220 South Central Avenue, PHX, AZ 85003
A fusion of Latin flavors with table side guacamole service makes The Mission my favorite restaurant in Scottsdale. While tequila is of little interest to me personally, it's worth noting The Mission has one of the southwest's premiere tequila selections.
